During the time I worked on assembling our family history, I communicated with several of our cousins. They provided me with family information that I lacked, guided me to genealogical sources that were foreign to me and convinced me that "Our Family History" had to be completed.

Our Cashman cousin, Mary Frances (Bedford) Kuntsal, of Santa Barbara, California, was most unselfish in her desire to assist. She was actually incredibly helpful. Mary, is the daughter of Edna Frances Buckley (1919-1991) and Harry Bedford; granddaughter of Annie (Cashman) Buckley (1891-1979) and John Patrick Buckley (1892-1962); great granddaughter of John Henry Cashman and Margaret (Ryan) Cashman, our common ancestors; and, great, great, granddaughter of James Cashman and Catherine (Corcoran) Cashman.

In 2010, Eileen Christine (Gwilliam) Perron, contacted me with genealogical information on our Cashman ancestors. Eileen's research was more than invaluable in preparing the Cashman narrative set out above.

Eileen Perron's daughter, Suzanne Marie Perron, married Peter Cashman. Peter Cashman and his brother, Stephen Cashman, are the sons of Howard Cashman, who was Jeane (Cashman) Lawton's first cousin. Peter and Stephen Cashman, would be Mark Lawton's second cousins. Our common ancestors would be Maggie (Ryan) Cashman (1856-1933) and her husband, the successful and popular Brockton businessman John Henry Cashman 1852-1896), who left the Cashman Ashburnham farm as a young boy.

Stella Jane Cashman, was born to Peter Cashman and Suzanne (Perron) Cashman, kindling an interest in Eileen Perron, Suzanne (Perron) Cashman's mother, about these Cashman people. Thankfully someone cares.

Our Lawton cousin, John Hansen, of Newburyport, Massachusetts, was of immeasurable assistance in the gathering and sharing of Lawton family data. He also was very patient in waiting for me to respond to his offers of help in the preparation of "Our Family History." John, is the son of Janet Maureen Goduti and Jack Hansen, Jr., grandson of Kathryn "Kay" Loyola Lawton and Fred Goduti, great grandson of John Joseph Lawton and Anne Foley, great great grandson of Maurice Lawton and "Kate" Splaine and great, great, great, grandson of James Lawton and Johanna (Callaghan) Lawton, our common ancestors.

Our Twohig/Long cousin, Alan Long, of Dublin, Ireland, was more than generous with his research and encouragement. Alan, is the son of Joe Long, of Cork City, grandson of Nathaniel Long, great grandson of Nathaniel Long; and, great, great, grandson of Nathaniel Long (born in 1834 in Ireland) and Susan (Goodman) Long (born in 1832 in Ireland), our common ancestors.

When I was an adolescent, I was greatly influenced by my maternal aunt, Geneva Cashman, who was born on August 6, 1922 in Brockton, Massachusetts. Geneva, was the second oldest of the seven Cashman children. Geneva, passed away in Brockton, on January 25, 2009. Our mother, Jeanne Gloria Cashman, was the third from the youngest of the seven.

What impressed Geneva's nieces and nephews the most, aside from her Catholic faith, was her devotion to the memory of those generations who preceded her. She dutifully kept a family history of the Cashman, Ryan and Poudrier Families which was based on the oral tradition handed down to her. That material, all of which has been corroborated through newspaper articles, deeds, as well as birth, marriage and death certificates, is reproduced within these family histories. Geneva, left a large footprint. She'll continue to do so.

Aileen (Kehoe) Kaylor, of Warren, Connecticut, is the family historian for the Kaylor, Kehoe, Manning and Lunney Families. Aileen, is the daughter of Thomas John Kehoe III and Aileen Frances (Manning) Kehoe. Aileen and her late husband, Brian, are the parents of Travis, Brooke, Ashley and Brendan Kaylor. Her son, Travis Manning Kaylor, married Molly Burke Lawton, on June 13, 2015. Aileen, found great satisfaction in gathering and sharing family information for the preparation of this family history. Aileen, was prolific.

Paul Burke, of Raynham, Massachusetts, son of Robert and Jeanne Burke, was more than helpful in providing Burke Family, Clifford Family and even Kaylor Family documents for the preparation of those sections of this family history narrative. Paul, would be Patty (O'Leary) Lawton's second cousin. Paul Burke's children would be third cousins to Patrick O'Leary Lawton, Molly Burke (Lawton) Kaylor and Timothy Clifford Lawton. The common ancestors of Paul Burke and Patty (O'Leary) Lawton, would be Dennis Burke and Johanna (Cahill) Burke, of the townland of Curragh, County Cork, Ireland.

Paul Burke's sons, Jonah and Paul Burke, have become well known throughout the southeastern section of Massachusetts as accomplished performers with the pipes and drums. They've performed in countless venues.

Dawn Giel, who married Tim Lawton, in October of 2022, shared her family's story with us. Dawn's maternal aunt, Priscilla (Moore) Jacobson, also shared her family story with us, especially the Hawkes family history, which made us part of America's beginnings. After Tim and Dawn's 2022 wedding in Montana, our family stories blended and merged, as with so many others. Their story is now our story.
